I completely redesigned the template scene from scratch.
This is a much more straight-forward approach.
With this setup, much less of the original image is lost.
This is based on the default Director's View setup.
The 2d face is simply in the background and stretched to fill the frame.
Just as before, I deleted the ground plane and turned off all of the atmospheric
effects and changed the background ambient to white.
Moved the sun to maximize luminance.
It doesn't seem to be as versatile with this setup however.
This is a re-render of an older 3D work.
I have much experimentation to do with the new template.

I actually like it all myself,
but most people I've found, like the simpler stuff better.
Nobody has ever come out and told me my stuff is too busy
but based on the feedback....

I don't know, sometimes busy can be good, and sometimes simple is better... I think it depends more on HOW you do either one, than which you choose..
